I'm with you, man. I love Audioslave. I listen to them far more than Soundgarden. I think Out of Exile is a great record, too. It has my personal favorite Audioslave song on it. I don't think it's a weak link at all.VinylGuy wrote:I know im in a minority here, but Audioslave is awesome to me. Out Of Exile is the weak link maybe, but the first one and last one are masterpieces. Its a way different beast than Soundgarden, and rightfully so.
Higher Truth is one i need to listen to again.

Re: Chris Cornell
They really did something special with Audioslave. I saw Soundgarden in 1996 and Audioslave on their first tour and Audioslave was definitely the better show.durdencommatyler wrote:I'm with you, man. yeah Audioslave was incredible. Their debut has to be one of bests from all times. Its just fucking amazing.
Soundgarden is a different beast. I cant compare them, thats the common mistake.

There is some good writing in here. I dont like the production mostly, the grandiose sounding of choices. But Cornell sounds so fucking good, and there are some strong songs here.
Trough The Window, Josephine, Circling are very cool.

Bend In The Road is a good example of what i dont like about this album. Mostly the clean 70s sounding production. If i want Cornell with a piano, i would chose When Im Down, not this one at all.

Misery Chain is great. But the latter part of the album besides Circling is a drag, its BOB making the worst clean, AOR choices.

Yeah i'm with you on that...gave it a second listen but it does nothing for me. And i typically like his covers....loved that Nothing Compares 2 U cover.tragabigzanda wrote:I do not like that cover of Patience at all. Way too much forced melodrama by way of the production.

I've always had a really soft spot for his cover of Thank You. It really is a beautiful rendition, particularly the earlier live recordings of it circa late Audioslave days. On the other hand, if I never hear his cover (or any cover) of Imagine again, it'll be too soon.
