REM wins the best 10 album run by any band, though
I beg to differ. I think this run...stip wrote:REM wins the best 10 album run by any band, though

Prince - Dirty Mind - Controversy - 1999 - Purple Rain - Around the World in a Day - Parade - Sign "O" the Times - The Black Album - Lovesexy
might be better.
That's not a knock on REM's though.
I think the deep cuts are the best part of that run. PartyUp, When You Were Mine, The Beautiful Ones, Darling Nikki, Sometimes it Snows in April, Christopher Tracy's Parade, Anna Stesia, I Wish U Heaven, Strange Relationship, Adore, Eye No, Forever in My Life, The Ballad of Dorothy Parker, Something In The Water (Does Not Compute), Sexuality, Jack U Off, I Feel For You, Head not to mention b-sides like the aforementioned Erotic City & Shockadelica, as well as 17 Days, How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore, She's Always In My Hair, & Another Lonely Christmas. And he wrote Manic Monday for the Bangles, Jungle Love & The Bird for the Time, and Nothing Compares 2 U for Madhouse (obviously later mastered by Sinead O'Connor) in that same period. Dear God was that man on fire from 1979-1988.bada wrote:I love Princes singles but the deep cuts don't tend to stay with me. Erotic City and Shockidelica excepted.
Shit, they're all basically the same album.griffinxi wrote:Bad Religion
Suffer, No Control, Against the Grain
I'm not currently on the trip but those 3 records are fucking great. And I'm a staunch AGIB defender of being just as quality as the two that came before.Strat wrote:Am I the only one on the Wilco Trip?
Summerteeth --> A Ghost is Born
Well, sure, if we're not counting Tom Waits or the Beatles or Pink Floyd or Neil Young or Pearl Jam, then, yeah. Totally.stip wrote:REM wins the best 10 album run by any band, though
Jungle Love is perfect. I dig the song Love Bizarre he did for Shiela E too.Lament wrote:I think the deep cuts are the best part of that run. Man, I can't believe I forgot A Love Bizarre. He did The Glamorous Life for her as well.bada wrote:Jungle Love is perfect. I dig the song Love Bizarre he did for Shiela E too.

I fucking love all 4...I think Being There & AGIB are my favorites at times. Then I listen to ST & YHF and feel like I'm stupid to think I like the other 2 more.Strat wrote:LetMeSleep wrote:Wilco's Being There is a must over AGIB. Being There Summerteeth and YHF is the run.
i went back and forth between the these runs....
It could change any moment.
I like REM, though not anywhere near a huge fan, but I don't think any of these bands have 10 record runs that likely compete with REM's run...though I like all these bands quite a bit more than REM.durdencommatyler wrote:Well, sure, if we're not counting Tom Waits or the Beatles or Pink Floyd or Neil Young or Pearl Jam, then, yeah.
