This one was everything the new star wars need to be.

Ha, I thought the opposite coming out of this movie. It made me really nervous about how potentially bland the new SW could be.

The post credits scene is not worth sticking around for.
I disagree. You were distracted by the talking duck and missed
Spoiler: show
Adam Warlock's cocoon is open.

That is one of the dumbest things I've ever read on the internet.

It's an important scene because it was Adam Warlock's cocoon which was closed in the post-credits scene of Thor 2 and it being open means that Adam Warlock is now 'free'. It's a convolution of several comic lines - GotG meets The Infinity Stone - but basically Adam Warlock was a part of the original The Infinity Stone storyline as well as a member of the GotG for awhile.

I missed the cocoon bit. I didn't know what that was. He's Thanos' big rival, right?

you can think of thanos and adam warlock as opposite sides of the coin. both are very capable and well versed in handling the infinity gauntlet. adam feels no one should wield it but if anyone should it should be himself.

thanos wants to wear it not to rule with it but to give his beloved lady death the ultimate gift. the gift of half the known universe dead. both have in the past come to an understanding and thanos was entrapped by adam into the infinity gauntlet (most notably the mind gem portion) where he learned peace. if i recall though it was just a ruse to bond with one of the gems even more...

To a degree. Drax would be considered a much bigger rival, especially in the comics. But since they re-wrote that backstory who knows.

The wife and I were gonna go see this, but instead we stayed home and watched Mannequin Two: On the Move. Pretty sure we made a good decision. Meshach Taylor was aces.

It's true, I did miss that, but I still don't think those 20 seconds were worth waiting around for when you can just watch it online.

wow I completely missed the cocoon in both scenes.. hmm.. so I'm assuming they're gonna make warlock star lords dad (seems like that won't follow the comic).. or possibly thanos??

Unless the kids want to see this - I think I'll wait till it's out on DVD. The trailer did nothing to make me want to see this
