It's the greatest Christmas song ever recorded by the most underrated band of this decade. LISTEN TO IT AND FUCKING ENJOY IT FOREVER AND EVER AND YOU'RE WELCOME

This seems like an over exaggeration

Look, man. I like the song. It's good (TO ME). And Honeyhoney is an amazing band (TO ME). Your mileage may (MOST CERTAINLY WILL) vary.

Of course it's hyperbole on my part. That's kinda my brand ( ). But also the post was meant to be overly-hyperbolic by design as a direct reaction to how difficult it was for others to actually get the video to work.

I thought that was clear. Even though that's the kind of thing I've done for the last 15 years as a regular poster on this board, it's becoming clear to me that no one has ever understood my posting style. That's a pretty hard truth to come to grips with. But I'm willing to grow and learn and change.

I'm sorry for the confusion all these years. I guess my board "shtick" doesn't make any sense to you guys while others' don't totally make sense to me. So it balances out, I suppose.

My thing is, I like Christmas Tipsy. I think it's a good song. I enjoy it. I listen to it every holiday season. But I think it transcends the holiday season, too.

If you choose to listen, I hope you enjoy it on some level. If not, no worries. It's just a song.

:peace:

Yeah, man, that's a great song. My "favorite" Christmas song changes all the time. But that one is always top 5.

Holy crap, that was beautiful. Took a turn I totally didn't see coming and it got me. I've listened like five times in a row now.
For various reasons this just made me bawl.

My xmas mix is very special to me for personal reasons that I won't get into, but I am thinking about revising it to include at least "Jingle Bell Rock" as was pointed out a few pages back.

Anything else I should consider?

Getting a life?

Just so you know, your Christmas mix has been a staple in our household for the past several years. The kids love it, the parents love it, the grandparents love it -- a beautiful collection in unquestionably the best sound I've ever heard from this music in a digital format.

I'd hope any revisions would merely be expansions, as it would be a shame to cut anything already here (can't remember if the running time would permit any shoehorning), but in addition to "Jingle Bell Rock," The Jackson 5's "Up on the Housetop" is a personal favorite, and would be right at home alongside the Stevie Wonder track. The Motown era had a lot of great stuff. We also have big feelings for "Heat Miser" and "Snow Miser" in our household, but those may be a little cartoon-ish for the feel of this mix.

Someday, if time and interest ever permits, a second volume would be cool too, focusing on the next couple decades. Darlene Love's "All Alone on Christmas," Mavis Staples's "Christmas Vacation," Tom Petty's "Christmas All Over Again." After Mariah Carey (1994, 25 years now!) I don't think there have really been any new canonical Christmas songs, which is a shame.

Thanks again for your efforts on this, it has made many Christmases extra merry and bright.

Has Ray Conniff or the New Christy Minstrels been mentioned? As a kid my parents had these albums (along with Perry Como and andy Williams) and they were a staple in our Christmas music playlists.

They have some good versions of songs.

That really means a lot to me, Kevin. :peace:

I was very particular about the sound. I have a friend who used to work for Sony and he hooked me up with some cool unreleased things, like the Gene Autry "Rudolph" from the original lacquer! Also snagged a Mexican LP to get a good "Feliz Navidad" (wtf happened to that one in digital?) and even extracted the 3-track master of the Nat King Cole song from an SACD surround layer! No stone went unturned.

took me until last year to figure out the ghost stories are the Scrooge ones.

Pfft. I needed that explained to me. And thank you for that
