I don't know, there's a few things they could do live that would really annoy me - mainly covers, admittedly.

I get that let-down feeling every time I hear the start of RITFW, which I've gotten at 7 of my last 8 PJ/EV shows.

See, I'm never disappointed to hear RITFW! I've only heard it once in 5 Pearl Jam shows.
Any of their "traditional" covers is fine by me: RITFW, Fuckin' Up, Baba, Leavin' Here etc.
I would genuinely be really bummed out to hear Love Reign O'er Me live.
Throw Your Arms Around Me, Mother and any of the Van Halen covers also - too bad they played all three at the most recent show I saw.
(Man, I really didn't enjoy that show.)

Not a huge fan, but my wife is, and I went to a show with her last year and it was truly awesome. But I get that she rubs a lot of people the wrong way. Amanda, not my wife. Everyone loves my wife. Anyways, I left the show thinking AP was pretty cool.

It's not like those musicians were supposed to be hired specifically for traveling national acts that happened to come to their town. The whole idea was throwing something different together in each town, likely giving fans of the artist a chance to play with her on stage. If no musicians showed up, she'd still do a show.
