Ya know, I think I'd take FD over Supersonic. Surprising.

I am sometimes surprised by how much I enjoy future days

I've always liked "Supersonic"--apart from its non-exemption from folks' understandable objections to "Backspacer" in general, I never understood its inclusion on so many lists of singular Pearl Jam atrocities. I always found it a welcome burst of energy after the one-two punch of "Amongst the Waves" and "Unthought Known," arguably the two most anemically written songs in the band's entire catalog. I'd rank it comfortably ahead of both of those songs, and would rank all of them comfortably ahead of "Future Days."

I dont think Supersonic is better than those two, but its miles away FD for sure. I still dont know why they release such a boring song.

Future Days makes way more sense to me as a new father than it would have as a young rockin kid. I am moved by it.

I'm not a father but I've owned Sea Monkeys in the past and Future Days is still the worst

The 10C Holiday Single next year will be Ed singing Cats in the Cradle and it will turn into Last Kiss part II and get Pearl Jam their first #1 single ever.

See, I hear that and I just imagine someone wanking off the edge of the pier.

I listened to backspacer the other day. I love this album so much. I get people not ranking it is a favorite, but the hate it receives is just baffling to me. It lacks the 'I am making a grand statement about something' feel that is so important to pearl jam's sound, but it's just such an enjoyable listen to me from start to finish (excepting Supersonic).

Just breathe kinda sucks, amongst the waves kinda sucks, supersonic kinda sucks, unthought known kinda sucks. Force of nature I haven't decided upon yet, still. Unthought known seems to be significantly better when live and they jam it out.
