id actually hate if that happened, sure, I was at Moline and Milwaukee, but I already had heard almost all of those songs Mankind, Brain of J, and All Those Yesterdays were the only songs I was missing from No Code and Yield. Binaural on the other hand, Insignificance is the only song ive heard off their since 2000 (Breakerfall, Of the Girl, and Light Years)

thats really my only complaint with the Moline/Milwaukee set. NOTHING from Binaural, Riot Act, and only Corduroy from Vitalogy? (off the top of my head)

i went in with low expectations...
the show was fuckin great. I thought the crowd was awesome.
I had awesome seats, 3 rows up on Mike's side right next to stage.

Baba at #5 was unbelievable and I think set the tone for the rest of the night.

I have no complaints or nit picks about it. it was one of the top 3 shows I have seen.
they sounded tight, and it seemed like ed didn't even flub that many lyrics (at least not noticeably).
I also saw the exchange behind the kit at the end and noted it to be a genuine moment for the band.

this is a great live band. had a great time. my only complaint is it is only Tuesday and it is back to reality and recovery.

f'n yield, man. i'm still riding that post-show high. really, it's a three show high that started in moline. what an incredible, exhausting weekend of shows.

i agree with whoever said milwaukee didn't have the same 'feel' as moline. for me, at least, red dot as the intro music was the giveaway, and going into mym after one slow song and then baba at slot #5 was just more evidence as to what was going to go down. and enough fans were aware of moline that i suspect a lot of them picked up on exactly the same things i did, so there probably wasn't that collective 'aha!' moment that made the moline show get to the next level in terms of crowd reaction and excitement. still, that doesn't take away from the performance at all, which was just wonderful to witness and be a part of. everyone around us was thrilled, and it made for a great environment.

we set up on stone's side and ended up being right next to theo epstein for the majority of the show. either he wasn't recognized or those that did let him alone, which i thought was cool for him. props to him for having a good time in the pit with us common folk.

I really thought Red Dot was just to fuck with us after getting no real intro music at Moline
but having been at Moline, as soon as Brain of J started in Milwaukee, knowing that song BARELY gets played on tour, having it played again just 2 shows later, im thinking either they thought "hey lets play it again, that was fun" or, it was Yields night. Sure enough, once the next song hit it was on.

Toledo 04, both PJ20 shows, Wrigley, Moline, and Milwaukee 2014... Ive been at some great fucking shows

So honestly, one of the coolest (non-musical) parts of the night happened at the very end of the show during Yellow Ledbetter when Mike was solo'ing the Star Spangled Banner. The entire band was standing behind Matt's drumkit putting down beers, hi-fiving, joking around, and hugging. Stone turned to Jeff and clearly said "we did it, great job," and hugged. Ed and Matt were doing the same, and then Stone and Ed. You can tell this was sort of a catharthis or release for them. I haven't seen them generally that emotional as a group after a show in a long time, and it was just really cool to see.

I saw that and it seemed really cool. Like they really were having the times of their lives. And it showed in the set too. Everyone was full of energy and enthusiasm. All kinds of memorable moments.

We were directly in front of Ed about 10 people deep. I'm just over 6 feet tall, and usually my view is still blocked in GA. Last night I had a crystal-clear view of the entire band, with no one over 5'10 in front of me.

6 rows back in front of Stone. There were about 4-5 kids under 10 around us. I was just curious because we've met before (thanks for the PJ beer) and I didn't see you.

I wonder if the full album thing had anything to do with the shows being the closest two to Chicago. Lots of fan club members, close to home for Edward. Thoughts? If they were just doing it in small towns they would have picked Lincoln and Moline.

The sound sucked, but anyone who's been there knows it. I've seen a bunch of shows there and the sound is never good. Especially when compared to being in the pavilion at Alpine. Having said that, it won't keep me away from a show I want to see. And this show was epic. These guys just continue to get better with age. They consistently play 2.5 to 3 hour shows now whereas in the 90s they were playing 2 hour shows. I remember Chicago 98 was like a 2.5 hour show and that was considered epic then, now it would be a standard show. Last night was special.

Chicago 98 wasn't epic because it was long (and it wasn't even as long as their previous Chicago show), it was epic because they played out of their collective minds. I saw these guys probably 30 times from 1995-2013, and it's very possible Chicago 98 was the single best performance I've even seen them put forth. They were just on fire that whole night.
