Hey LV, I'm also a big fan of movies based on historical events but that are embellished and over the top with the story. Have you seen "The Eagle"?

I have not. The trailers made it look pretty rough. But after seeing How I Live Now (same director), I kind of want to see it.

I enjoyed it. Just for the fact that if even a small amount of it was true, that is pretty cool.

Have you seen Logan's Run, LV? Thoughts?

Yes. I think it's middle-of-the-road, but Peter Ustinov's performance is one of my all-time favorites. That guy is awesome.

It sure is really fuckin' weird, though. I would have loved to see Nicolas Winding Refn's remake come to fruition.

The Leprechaun series remains an untapped venture for me at this time.

LV--As a teetotaler, are you especially disappointed in me?

All I can say is that the sweet visual intoxication of FVK is far more satisfying than any liquor.

I've never been able to get through it. I watched the first 30 minutes or so once and found it unbearable.

I had a very similar experience last night with God Only Knows. Except I made it through the first hour. And I wouldn't say it was unbearable, but it was dull and useless. But (even as a straight man) Ryan Gosling is fun to look at, I suppose.

Wasn't there talk of a remake? I always thought the story had so much potential but yeah the movie is difficult.
