Serious question: If everyone is getting their music digitally these days what is the point of a pre-order?
Part 2 of question: Do you really think a Jeff Ament solo album will be popular enough that hard copies sell out during the “regular” public sale, to the point where you would need an inside track via fan club pre-order to secure yourself one?
1) lots of people listen to records, and lots of the jamily likes to collect this stuff on vinyl
2)theyre probably not pressing that much of it anyway
Part 3: Am I in the Jamily?
I hate to break it to you, but yes, you are.

Halfway through the Fricke interview....pretty cool.
I used to hate Fricke because his view on the band middle period was awful.

This is one of the best band interviews of all time.
Baltin: What are the biggest changes you took from your artistic process you will use going forward?
Ament: The band is just starting to get back together, so we’re just starting those conversations. But the one thing that I said was that I hope during this last year and a half that everybody dreamt up some new ideas on how we can tour more efficiently and less wastefully. I’ll admit it, the pandemic was horrible and people struggled, but having the time off and being able to go deep creating, that part was pretty great. Just to sort of be out of the rat race for a year and a half, I didn’t hate that part of it. I’m really looking forward to whatever we do next. I know there’s gonna be a shift and I think it’s gonna be a really positive shift. But I don’t know what that is yet for the band.
Baltin: So looking ahead to Ohana for example, is there an extra sense of excitement at being back onstage?
Ament: Well, it’s going to be amazing. I went and saw Brandi Carlile two weeks ago and it was her first show and the first show here in Missoula, first big show, 4500 people. and it was electric. The joy that was emanating in the whole place, going back and forth between Brandi and the audience, was pretty insane. So there was a part of me that was a little bit jealous I wasn’t on Brandi’s side of that (laughs). So I know that part is going to be amazing. And at the other end we were rehearsing the new record when the s**t hit the fan and we knew those songs. But we hadn’t touched any of the 140 songs in our catalog. So we haven’t played any of those 140 songs in almost three years. So hopefully that allows s to change some stuff up with that too. Hopefully we’ll get back into and maybe we’ll play things a little bit differently. “Oh, we should play that one slower, or let’s extend this section or we’ve always extended this section in this song, let’s not do that anymore.” Just have some new conversations about how we play those old songs; that’s all exciting. But it’s gonna be an undertaking, it’s gonna be three or four weeks of rehearsal.
