When I went to Canada, I was really weirded out, and I should say grossed out, by the sweet/sugary taste of pretty much everything. I imagine it's worse in the USA (because everything is, right?). Also weirded out by seeing people eating supper around 6 pm, and restaurants closed at 9 pm which is usually the time when we arrive at restaurants around here. WTF people?

It's the default, but you gotta watch the homeowner and other guests for clues. For example my parents are so lazy that their dog ends up pissing all over the house because they won't get up to walk her in the mornings. I
always wear my shoes there because there's only so many Bichon Frise urine soaked socks a man can tolerate.

I assume this is how they elect the president in Brazil. May her reign be long and bouncy.

He's got a good point, really; I'm sure the kid had a great day, and I'm happy for him, but ultimately the purpose those big 'treats' serve is to inspire able-bodied people. Other kids won't be so lucky.

So... what? They shouldn't have done it? Fuck off. This kid's gonna die soon, he wanted to be Batman for a day and he was lucky to be picked by an organization that had the means to make it happen. Better to do it for the one child than for no one.
