$60 will let you listen to your records. It's not the finest piece of audio equipment, but it does have RCA outputs.

yep. shitty needles and no counterbalance on the tone arm can tear up the grooves of the record. sure, shitty players have been on the market since the beginning of the vinyl-era, and i'm sure most of the used records we buy have, in some form or another, gone through years of abuse. but no need to continue the cycle. of course, it's fine to play records on cheap players if that's what you wanna do (or need to do).. i just wouldn't play anything that you care about preserving.

Can the needles be changed out?

Is this an "over-time" thing or a "one play and it's fucked" thing?

cheap players tend to have fixed needles that can't be replaced

Most better quality tables allow for upgrading needles. Im guessing those $50 shit boxes do not allow for that.

If you are going to be a pj nerd hound and collect everything, just dont buy one poster and buy yourself a decent turntable

You could probably (with a bit of hunting) pick up a half-decent vintage TT in a similar price range that will be way better than that gimmicky thing.

I like the 120, but it's thrice the price.

I'm sure there are nicer ones out there, but for general listening it works fine. Sounds good with decent speakers and a small amp.

I kept one of my 1200's from my rave/DJing phase. It's 20 years old and still working great
