My pops has been insistent that he was going to come help me, but we haven't been able to coordinate. Now he's down on his back and leg. I just talked to him and he said something about he hopes he gets better so he can get out here. I was like bro, don't even think about it i'm calling a plumber. He started talking about someone who works occasionally on the farm next to them who used to do plumbing work. I was thinking dude why haven't you mentioned him before! He's going to track down his number and see if he's interested. Could probably use some extra cash this time of the year so fingers crossed my partners!

Oh god, I had a neighbor at the lakehouse who occasionally fixed stuff. Had him patch a hole in my ceiling, ended up costing $700 ffs.
My only defense is it was near impossible to get an actual handyman out to do such a small job, but that wouldn’t be an issue with a plumber.

A size 12.5 shoe. I was in the crawl space trying to sort out a leak, slipped, and put my foot through the drywall. Classic example of a basic home issue snowballing out of control.

Kinda felt like it, but the dude helped me out with other stuff over the years, like pulling a tree out of the channel that a beaver took down. Also we had no time to mess around as we needed to get the place on the market.
Moral of the story is these handy folks people know might not always be the best route. But I suppose if your own father is vouching, it’s pretty safe.

I hear you. I'm bad about openly stating I don't know how to do things or other type comments that mos def set me up for some manipulation.

It is nice out so at lunch my wife and I started some spring pool maintenance. She was cleaning out one of the skimmer boxes and I heard a loud scream. A giant frog jumped out of it and into the pool. The good news is, he swam right over to the frog log and climbed right out.
