i hope the first song in the new album is a moody Cant keep type of song..warehouse wrote:im really liking this the more and more i hear it. does anyone else think the song before it on the album might lead in MYM, kinda like why go/black? the start of the song is pretty sudden.
That's my hope too, its time for them to have another slower openerVinylGuy wrote:i hope the first song in the new album is a moody Cant keep type of song..warehouse wrote:im really liking this the more and more i hear it. does anyone else think the song before it on the album might lead in MYM, kinda like why go/black? the start of the song is pretty sudden.
It's like when some people find happiness, their musical output decreases in frequency and quality. This also seems to apply to message board posting...given2trade wrote:Holy Shit. 181 pages? I guess Pearl Jam is still as exciting as ever.
I can't believe 181 pages. I haven't listened to this since the 1st time it came on. I thought it was fine. Anyone who thinks this album is going to be "good" relative to any Pearl Jam album pre 2003 is kidding themselves. What I'd give for another Riot Act...
The band is older and their lives are better. Why is that so bad? But it means the music is going to be stale and generic.

in fairness, about a 150 pages of this are off topic bullshit and speculation.given2trade wrote:i see what you did there?theplatypus wrote:It's like when some people find happiness, their musical output decreases in frequency and quality. I remember people posting the exact same shit the last two albums...blahbluestate wrote:For whatever it's worth, a lot my friends who don't give a flying shit about PJ have come up to me in the past few days and said "dude, mind your manners is a pretty good song". That's a moral victory for me right there. Thanks PJ!!!

Yeah it is a good song for what it is . It's fairly safe but I don't think there is anything really abrasive or unenjoyable about it. I find the lyrics pretty well crafted they probably could have been a little less obvious. If this is a song that is meant to take the space of a Supersonic or Big Wave it has me optimistic about the album.Fuzzcharger wrote:It's nice to see the response be so overwhelmingly positive to this track. Well at least it is in the poll. I put my faith in the numbers.
I pretty much denied ever being a fan of the band when the last album came out.....hard to keep it on the down low since I used to make road trips to hit multiple shows, ect. I pretty much just had to take The Fixer embarrassment on the chin and bear it.given2trade wrote:I remember people posting the exact same shit the last two albums...blahbluestate wrote:For whatever it's worth, a lot my friends who don't give a flying shit about PJ have come up to me in the past few days and said "dude, mind your manners is a pretty good song". Well there's already a couple douches in the pit saying it's the worst thing they've ever done. I figure it's gonna be a one of those "polarizing" songs once the intital glee wears off. Expect a lot more of these douches coming out of the woodwork once the album comes out and they see a Matt Cameron writing credit.Fuzzcharger wrote:It's nice to see the response be so overwhelmingly positive to this track.
