Well Brendan sort of seemed to have an iron grip on them or final say in the studio And not all members of the band were happy about it.
So the Jeff story doesn’t shock me. It’s not really a point of view more just a soft opinion

It boggles my mind why this band allowed him to control so much. What power did he have over them? Did he know their deepest, darkest secrets?

Well that didn’t happen overnight. He got them there initially and they probably just had blind faith in him
