On the two minutes of the Today show I saw, they teased "huge news from two of the biggest rock bands in the world" while showing Pearl Jam. I couldn't keep it on long enough to see what the news was.

Ten’ came out on the day of his 12th birthday, and was the first album he ever owned.

The actor saved up loose change in an old sock to pay for the album, he recalled, and headed down to his local record store to buy it for himself as a birthday treat.

“I came home with my new birthday gift I had just bought myself and I was beaming,” Paul wrote. “Could not wait to listen to it.

Really? The day it came out? What 12 year old had heard of Pearl Jam on the day Ten was released? I know he’s from Washington but still... was he going to Mookie Blaylock shows at age 11 and counting down the days until the album dropped?

My guess is this was either randomly made up by Paul or an agreement he had with PJ to put out a creative (dishonest) ad for the band. I just can’t believe the story.

No, my Seattle music start was when I heard Outshined on the radio very soon after it was released. A friend of
mine bought the album and we listened to it a lot. After the release of Ten we got into PJ. Soon after I discovered MLB. I do like them. I still like Andy's vocals and his interviews too. I remember getting really animated during the mlb rockers during the MSG TOTD concert I went to awhile back. Great show. When I'm full of energy mlb is some of the music I play. Went with old friends to that totd concert. So glad I saw them b4 the tragedy.


I was a fan of nirvana too when nevermind hit, like about everyone else i knew at the time. In utero was better. Was a big fan of the popular seattle bands. Still am. Only got to see pj live out of those but saw them a few times.

I know damn well the story is bullshit, because he stole it from me. He posted here briefly (and anonymously) in 2014.

I realised it was him because of the email address he used to sign up. We PMd a couple of times, he was pretty cool.
