Help me out, I just re-watched the last 3 episodes of Season 5 and I'm a little confused: they must have sent Tristan on a second ship, yeah?

They had lots of catching up to do, but I think the murder in Dorne was the most interesting part. Does this mean we'll have a southern war very soon? Or will the Sand Snakes try to work through assassinations and covert action?

Mel's final scene was a little underwhelming to end on. It's cool to get the glamour thing confirmed but I don't know if I'd close with it.

I thought the Brienne rescue was nice. Excuse my stip here, but it was a big moment for both of them showing redemption for Brienne and agency for Sansa.

I think it's pretty clear, at least from the final scene, that Mel is going to have to decide to give herself up to save Jon and maybe the world.

So regarding this tweet:
Where was that scene again, and in which season?

If I was going to retcon that, I'd say that since she was on Dragonstone, she was in touch with the elemental magic there and didn't need the jewel to keep up the illusion. But I'm sure it was just a costuming mistake. Nobody's perfect: some of the horses in the books change sex between different volumes.

Its the same reason Luke kisses Leia. They make this stuff up as they go and then say it was the plan all along. That's not a complaint because its ridiculous to expect writers to have every detail planned before hand and if they admit they are figuring it out as they go people lose their minds.

I got a little teary eyed. Thought it was the strongest scene from the episode.

I agree. Very well done.

Especially when Sansa got a little help when she forgot/didn't know the whole oath acceptance speech.

I liked everything happening in the North. Nothing of essence happened in Essos (except for burning boats maybe) and King's Landing. I want the Sand Snakes to go away.

on board with everyone else- this was the best part of the episode.

i thought it was a good episode all around. the dorne stuff was a legit surprise to me, did not see that coming. i'm really looking forward to watching davos in more of a leader role.

"We need to avenge Oberyn who was killed in a voluntary trial by combat! Let's go to war for that!"
"Let's kill his brother and nephew! He surely would have liked that! Oberyn loved kinslaying!"
"Are we as bad as the people we want to kill now? Nah, surely not! Those people raped and murdered Elia and her children!"
"The people responsible for that are all dead? Doesn't matter! Let's teleport on the ship with Tristan and murder him!"

They've fucked up everything about Dorne. Doran, Trystane, the Sandsnakes, everything.
