The dialogue in this trailer is no more cheesy nor eye-roll inducing than any of the dialogue in the previous 7 Star Wars films. This is a dumb complaint.

Some of this is the trailer problem in general, but I do think it is worse here than the FA, which is the only real comparison I have.

You're gonna have to point me toward specifics, because I just don't see it.

This was much more prevalent in the second R1 trailer. If I have time later I'll point to some examples.

I do really like the 'we'll take this chance, and the next one' or whatever the line was from the current trailer

Yeah, I'm only talking about the current trailer and the issues people have with that one specifically.

From my own view Rogue one seems to be getting the reserved to aggressive unwillingness to 'buy in' that Force Awakens should have gotten but didn't, mainly cos it's marketing campaign was pitched and played so perfectly and this one has been misstarts and crippled by all the rumours.

So the not outpouring but certainly reluctance/refusal to really invest is based in that and a sense of not wanting to be let down. And then there's that other faction who are just militant that this isn't Star Wars it's just Disney milking the brand.

Whatever. I'm excited.

I'll say there's a 12% chance that this isn't my all time favorite Star Wars film (this based on the footage we've seen, the articles I've read, and the talent involved in the making of). And A 90% chance it's at least my second favorite (Empire being far and away #1 right now) Star Wars film of all time.

In other words...

THIS IS GOING TO BE GREAT

Yea im excited and if all of these "spin off" movies are going to (at least look as great as this does) it will only make me love the main trilogy ones even more. Im just excited about all of this.

The writing team for the Han movie Is world class and they've picked the writer for the next standalone so it's all happening.

I was weary about a Han movie because why ruin a character. If Rogue One is great, and Episode 8 is even better than TFA (shut up LV) then i have full respect and trust in what they are doing over there.

I fully expect Rogue One and Space Bear to be the absolute pinnacle of my Star Wars fandom. After that... I have no idea what to expect. But I think these next two films have the potential to be everything I need to satisfy me for the next three decades.

The Star Wars just has everything to blow my skirt up. Mysticism, adventure, romance, creatures, amazing action sequences. I could watch any story that takes place in that world and ill be satisfied to a degree.

Which is what's so interesting to me about this series. Because I should love everything about it. But up until now, I haven't. TFA went a long way toward roping me in and making me "one of those fans." Rogue One could put me over the edge.
