I want it to be good, just noticing that given the high praise of previous SW releases from same critics, it's a bad sign...

Huh? I've only seen the headline for one review and it said that it WAS good.....just not great

The reviews are mixed to positive. People see what they want to see.

I'm seeing it on Friday. Expecting something like Rogue One, which would make me very happy. Just hope it's better than TLJ.

You hope you like it more. It won’t be better than TLJ. I wouldn’t compare them tbh.

They are both Star Wars movies, so should be easy to compare. TLJ is not some masterpiece like some here make out to be. At best it's a well produced movie, with a story all over the place. TLJ was a lot worse than Rogue One, so I'll be disappointed if Solo doesn't beat it. But from what I've heard so far, it will do so easily.

I'm not really expecting it to be better than any of the other Star Wars movies. I'm just looking to have a good time, y'know?

I think people will get hung up on the actor playing Solo. If they get past that, it won't be a problem enjoying the movie. Hopefully.

I think you're right. Luckily, that's a non-issue for me. I'm already ahead of the game!

The biggest criticism concerning me is there is no real antagonist, other than 'time'.

ALL the pods I listen to that have seen it say you totally get with him being han within about five minutes. And he plays being slightly cocky but slightly stupid / innocent perfectly
Exactly what a younger Han would be. He’s got it.

I heard he's good but Gambino outshines him quite a bit. If I were to be excited to see this, he'd be the reason.

Doesn't that sound like real life though
