granted, I think just breathe is a very nice song, but this is a 'sounds like bon jovi' post. How many negative images can I cram into one post to delegitimate the experience of people who are moved by the song. I love the 'full retard' version of radio friendly cheesy schlock. What does that say about me?

Because of course, you are correct, when everyone closes their eyes and listens to this song Miley Cyrus demolishing a building is precisely the image that comes to mind. Not the feel of the dark room, tense silence, the sensation of shattered sleep and sudden panic and gradual relief that the song pretty successfully captures.
I agree with all if this, even the sarcastic bits. It says nothing about you to me that you like the song. I just think its all those things that I mentioned above, and if you don't think those are negative things then good for you.
Nice passive aggression there! What if you just don't agree that those things are present in the song?

What's your point there? That I'd been "passive aggressive" by suggesting that it's the general aesthetic that people are disliking, more than the song itself? If that's passive aggressive I guess I'm guilty as charged.

I was too lazy to go back and find one of the "some people just don't want to like it" "it sounds like Pink Floyd even if SOME Pink Floyd fans who don't like it refuse to accept that" type posts. So I reoffered that more recent and easily acquired example of making blanket statements about people.

Which is what he did too.

I don't see how the statements are similar, if you compare the actual statements. Saying "there's obviously a bit of Pink Floyd in there" is not the same thing as saying "all those really shitty things I just listed? If you like them, then good for you."

Saying "there's some Pink Floyd in there" is not the same as saying "some people refuse to admit that because they like Floyd and dont like this song," either.

Neither statement is anything like the one I just criticised. Anyway, it doesn't matter, it's a just song. I'm sure it's shit and I'm just kidding myself, considering all the vastly intelligent people who think it's shit.

I am rather set in my ways.

I admit Im enjoying taking the piss out of the song like its the fat exchange students that spits when he talks and smells funny. I wish u did like it though, its more fun liking new pearl jam songs than hating them.

I didn't realize the line was "I can get over... whelmed." Now a bunch of posts suddenly make sense.

Anyway, not sure how I feel about that line.

Yeah, it's kind of bad and the reason I got the lyrics wrong at the beginning. Songwriting 101: if you have to separate the syllables that much, you need to use a different word, or two words, or even a different melody.

Who are you to judge the length of a man's hyphen?

Anyway, "overwhelmed" wouldn't normally be hyphenated.

most RM post of all time?
Is it any more "RM" than the post I was agreeing with?

Seriously, if one of my posts is just an expansion on someone else making the same point, people need to start pulling them up on it rather than me.

yeah but your wording was perfect for "most RM post of all time"
