"Universal Harvester" by John Darnielle is fucking amazing so far. I'm about 80 pages in and I goddamn love it.

So "I'll Be Gone in the Dark" was very good, but suffered in similar ways to all posthumous texts--it really petered out by the "end." I can only imagine where her research would've gone in the next few years. Definitely still worth a read if you're into crime stuff.

Based off a pretty rando Twitter recommendation, I'm going to read "The Manual of Detection" by Jedediah Berry.
Hey I just started Dark!

How 4 groups of bankers (from the UK, France, US, and Germany) made some bad decisions and caused the Great Depression and WWII. Pretty interesting read.

Picked up the 40th Anniversary Hardback edition of Joy Williams' "The Changeling." I've been wanting to read that book for a while now. The new edition is gorgeous, so I figured it was about time. Also grabbed the Greenlight Staff Recommended "When Women Were Birds" which I know nothing about but read the first page and fell for.

THEN when I got home, there was a copy of "Girl on the Train" just sitting there in the lobby for anyone to take. So I took that. It's a book I've been interested in but didn't want to actually pay for. So... perfect.

So many options. I decided to go with "Paris Nocturne" by Patrick Modiano. So far, I goddamn adore it.
