I'll be seeing this in just under 5 hours. I'll give a short spoiler-free reaction afterwards (if I remember).
Cosplay this year is Boba Fett.

Fuck. It was yesterday. Fuck.
Only kidding. Hit Irish premiere tickets for 630 and a midnight screening. Be interested to see if I wanna do the midnight screening.

RotJ isn't a great movie. But it's definitely better than RotS.

We're spending the weekend cleaning the house stem to stern for my son's birthday party so we probably won't see it until Sunday. Cheaper then anyway.

Just got home. I really enjoyed it. Good balance of humour and fantasy, without feeling like Hux vs Poe stupid slapstick.
Chewie was the MVP. So good.
Feels like they could do Solo 2 now. I might be open to that.
I'm taking the boys next week. I think they're going to love this one.
The Boba cosplay seemed to be a winner with the women tonight. Hoo boy. I think I'll do that one again.

It’s Han. Pure Han. He nailed it for my money.
Reshoots.
Literally only one scene that felt somehow different to the rest of the entire film. You’ll see it.
Almost unnecessary too in a way but again, literally the only one.
When this is doing Star Wars it’s the best Fucking Star Wars. Anyone who knows my fetish for a particular non speaking character will know
This is so much fun. Going again in a couple of hours
Can’t wait for you guys to see this. It’s got more deep cuts than anything ever and they are all delicious and endless and don’t get in the way apart maybe from the big obvious ones but you’ll be smiling anyways

This guy is usually bang on with my tastes and this was his summary
The prioritization of highlighting moments of "Star Wars" lore over telling a compelling story makes "Solo" feel overlong and anticlimactic.

Nnnyyyyehhh... kind of. It’s not the nods doing that. It doesn’t feel long but there’s definitely a couple of scenes and transitionary sequences that don’t need to be there.
The end feels a little jumbled too.
It’s not perfect by no means but for hardcore fans it’s a huge treat.

- Spoiler: show
Chris Stuckmann wrote:
Rarely ever does this film try to develop the character of Han Solo. When you have a movie that's all about him, I expect it to justify itself beyond just a money making machine that Star Wars is becoming. I expect there to be a reason beyond seeing Han Solo in some adventures because that's really all this movie gives us; a bunch of scenes that lead to various escapes or daring rescues or strokes of luck and it doesn't really do that much to deepen Han Solo as a character.
