I'm staggered that anyone thinks Mike is the coolest member of Pearl Jam.

Matt Cameron is clearly the coolest member of Pearl Jam and I don't even see how it's open for argument.

Don't get me wrong, Mike is great and seems like a very nice guy but he's also a gigantic dork.

They're all dorks. I think Jeff is probably the coolest. Thank fuck he lost his tights and hat phase.

I have a co-worker who grew up with Mike and describes himself today as being on the outer fringes of Mike’s circle of friends.

Anyway he said Mike is going really hard of hearing.

I heard betterman for the first time on the radio in my car in 1995. I thought it was a strong new single from hootie and the blowfish. A year later I was queuing up for No Code at midnight.
While a Western guitar motif lost on the swings drum bass fusion, get your own thoughts into the subconscious often forgotten. "Pendulum" is a sweeping soul from the ballast.

I've experienced a tiny percentage of the loud rehearsals and gigs that these guys have and even I've definitely got some low-level tinnitus and no doubt some degree of hearing loss.

It's a wonder that touring rock bands have any hearing left at all by the time they hit middle age.

Your staggered drunk if you think he's not! His skill level for his instrument alone makes him worthy of this title. If his voice was deeper there would be a Greek god named after him. Who else could possibly take this title from him? Boom is close but not there. Jeff wore the tall hat too long, bebopped in a truck during a video and is a regular on farmersonly.com. Matt looks like Barney Fife and do we really need to mention the other two?

Mike was cooler when he did hard drugs

now Jeff is the coolest cause he keeps it the most real

Matt was cool but then he went all spritzy punk with PJ and in the PJ context he might actually be the least cool because he is capable of being very very cool but deliberately has determined not to be

Stone is not cool but in a kind of cool way

Ed is cool because he makes climate change albums and boasts about private plane trips to the superbowl in the same week

Boom is cool because he lives on the streets and knows how to make a shiv out of a variety of commonplace objects

I wonder if ed will at some point wear a long coat made of polar bear cub hides just to prove he can.

Please allow me to explain why we're waiting such a long time for this album release. Ed and Rihanna are pop buddies and have conspired against us. Their song writing is exactly the same and they both delight in our suffering:

https://hiphopdx.com/news/id.54480/titl ... ze-my-fans

"Rihanna’s fans are impatiently waiting on her ninth studio album, so RiRi’s having fun with it. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the multi-platinum selling singer admitted she enjoys riling up her diehard supporters as they clamor for her first LP since 2016’s ANTI"

"I like to antagonize my fans a little bit,” she said. “Well, they antagonize me, too! So, they get it right back.”

Pearl Jam were extremely selective about which corporations to say "no" to from the beginning; they were loud about a select few so people assume they're punks or something

I’m more excited for Rihanna’s next album than Gigaton TBH

I don’t know how much of a joke this was supposed to be, but I completely agree with all these levels of cool

If we take the coolest version of each one, who was/is cooler?

1. Black leather jacket behind the head playing Mike.

2. Mohawk ultra-punk Ed

Or

Stoned 24/7 young pre-Ten Ed

3-4 tie: Any version of Boom and Soundgarden Matt

5. Without the Hat Jeff.

6. Just no.

1993-1995 angry Eddie peak cool.

These days they're all pretty dorky....but still cooler than the average 50 year old.
