yeah but your wording was perfect for "most RM post of all time"
Apparently you could say that about every post of mine.

Yes. But in elementary school children are introduced to hyphens by using them divide words at the syllable level when they won't fit on a single line of paper. Seemed appropriate for lyrics at the level Sirens' are and a way to slip in a dick joke. I'll use proper grammer in our future posts.

Anyway, not sure how I feel about that line.

I didn't really pick up on that lyric until i started seeing the posts

And I like how overwhelmed is delivered. It breaks up the presentation of what would otherwise be too wordy of a lyric

if I think too much I can get overwhelmed by the grace with which we live our lives with death over our shoulder

vs.

if i think too much I can get over
whelmed by the grace with which we live
our lives with death over our shoulder

All one sentence, but it's a nice sequence broken down into three parts. It wouldn't be if it was all gushed out at once.

I didn't know kids were introduced to hyphens that way. That seems fairly silly.

I can just envision several ways in which "overwhelmed" could be pronounced properly, with a space still left after it. I don't think they're mutually exclusive options. It's fine, though, I'm not that bothered by it.

He rhymed "overwhelmed" with "shoulder". Makes me wish "shoulderwhelmed" was a word.

with death over our grover.

Frees up shoulder for shoulderwhelmed. Instant classic.

technically I think he's rhyming over with shoulder, but I think we can all agree that not only Sirens, but any song, would be improved by having the word groverwhelmed in it.

Also I'd like it if, in "I studied your face," he changed 'face' to 'race.'

It would really have done amazing things to the Sky I Scrape analysis, I think.

I keep thinking of "I studded your face." Then it becomes a song between a body piercer and his client.

It also plays off the first time the pre-chorus was played.
"someday we'll be over"
I actually really like the breaking up of overwhelmed.
This song rules for me. The music isn't ground breaking, but the lyrics and Ed's delivery of them makes this song. It does help that the lyrics speak to me. I can relate to where Ed is coming from in my own life. It's not cheesy to me because I think Ed is authentic in his emotion.

Yeah this is a great song. I don't feel the elements of it are that foreign to a lot of things Pearl Jam has done in the past as some have suggested.
