That kid has great stuff and keeps the ball down, can get a K, doesn't beat himself, etc.

Back to Stroman even if starting doesnt work out (there are some frame issues....see Tom Gordon) he'd make a lights out closer. But he has shown some durability (last year in AA and at Duke his Junior year when he was great in the ACC on a bad team....had 6 of their 21 wins) which is promising.

Well the starting thing is working out pretty well so far. The ERA is down to 2.12 after another outstanding start last night (his second straight against Boston).

It's hard not to get excited about the things we've seen from him this year. He would absolutely be my choice to start a one-game playoff right now.

A lot will depend on who they'd be playing and if they have seen Stroman yet. I'd definitely have one of those two ready. That way if you win you could go the other one game 1 of the ALDS, Dickey game 2, etc. I like the Jays chances at one of those two wild card spots and with Dan Johnson now (Husker alum) I'm really pulling for them.

Johnson likely won't be there for long, but he's filled in admirably so far. It's amazing how well they've played since the All-Star break, and if they can get healthy soon (Encarnacion, Lind and Lawrie are all out, which REALLY hurts their lineup) I really think it's going to be an exciting finish.

Agreed. He also had a great year last year while battling through a knee injury which his pitching coach in Cleveland said may have led to his issues this year.
