I'm saying I like the guy. I just don't think he's as good as others do. He's a better director than JJ Abrams. But I enjoy JJ's films more than Martin's over the last 7/8 years. Big whoop.

He wasn't even nominated (Blood Diamond instead). I'm afraid that this movie will be outdated in a few years with the whole texting action, or maybe not. It's just so heavily concentreaed on cell phones. And I'm wondering whether it deerved best Adapted Screenplay. Don't get me wrong though, I enjoyed the film immensely. It's just that it has waned on me over the years.

"Captain Phillips"


Not best picture material, but pretty good. Hanks is Philadelphia level great towards the end.
