Kiss of Death - heckuva cast, but Cage's character was really the only interesting one and Caruso was badly miscast...there's probably a decent movie in there somewhere, but definitely a misfire

Man, what a letdown. This could have been so good and its just awful. That ending? yeez, long time since i saw something so fucking awful.
Green’s arc makes no sense to me. I don’t understand how you do George Washington and Eastbound & Down, the Halloween movie, but also a bunch of random crap
yeah, he can be super hit or miss. This one felt like a work for hire, there is not even one shot that suggests that Green is behind the movie.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Thoughts ?
It’s a breeze. Good casting, and the actors helped a lot with the script. Very rewatchable, but perhaps lacks something truly brilliant. Three stars out of five.

Not a movie where I would go: «tells a story!». That’s not to say there is no story, as just about anything in this world has a story of some kind, even a Pearl Jam song lyric. But the story is nothing special.

Personally the best thing about it, is that is makes me think of my travels in Europe. Especially 1999, as I went interrailing at 20 years old. Young and with all hope ahead.

I'm a huge Linklater fan, but I agree with this take. But I think that's its key strength, and why I'd give it 5/5 stars. I've never seen anything else that so effectively captured that feeling of being young and free and backpacking around Europe. Before Sunrise is a much better movie from a plot/emotional connection standpoint I think, but there's an effortless magic to the first one that is so dang compelling for me.
That's a very good point.

Watched that trilogy with my wife a couple years ago or so. They were captivating/enjoyable enough, but don't know if I will ever have the desire to revisit them.

I'm eager to watch Before Sunset again now that I've been married for seven years and have a kid. It felt kind of cynical at the time but I wonder if I'd relate to it more now.
yeah i wanna see that one and the last one again. They are wonderful.
