Re: Superblood Wolfmoon
I think it has some great parts (The ba da da part, and the post-solo part where it strips down is definitely an album highlight)
But IMO like 80% of the song could be greatly improved. The chorus is pretty lame. (I consider the chorus the part that likes "I can hear you, singin in the deestawnce")

I have a 10 year old daughter who sings SBWM all day, a 5 year old daughter who sings Dance of the Clairvoyants all day, and an 8 year son who just wants to get back to playing Roblox. In fact, last night I was like "superblood wolfmoon is super fun but listen to this..." Played Corduroy - they both were like "eh its OK...play WOLFMOON"!my kids are liking it too. Both will be sitting around or doing whatever they're doing and I hear them quietly singing "superblood wolfmoon". They've never given a shit about PJ before, so this is kinda nice.

My 16 year old said she didn't DISlike it. Her way of saying she liked it, I guess.Rob wrote:I have a 10 year old daughter who sings SBWM all day, a 5 year old daughter who sings Dance of the Clairvoyants all day, and an 8 year son who just wants to get back to playing Roblox. I’ve loved this song from the get-go, and though I think it’s in the lower half of Gigaton, I still think this song is fucking awesome. I have trouble ranking this album because songs like this show up near the bottom and I can’t believe that’s even possible. This song is a testament to how fucking great Gigaton is.

this is my number 2, I think. they managed to release my two favorites as singles
Also, from Riot Act on the first single was my favorite song on the album. MAYBE not Backspacer

Probably the biggest "gainer" for me on the album. First many listens I was kinda scratching my head like "huh? I guess...". Took me awhile to get the hang of this, but it's an interesting jaunt w/ lots of transitions and surprisingly hooky when you finally get the groove of the song.

its not the song that gained the most for me, but im really impressed by it. It went from something i didnt quite liked to an absolute joy. I love it, love Ed´s performance, love the guitars, the groove, how weird it is. Love the placement too.Tuolumne wrote:Probably the biggest "gainer" for me on the album. He does seem to like having one of the project’s punchiest songs as the second track. And it’s often a single. Spin the Black Circle, Hail Hail, God’s Dice, Save You, Comatose, Got Some, what uh, is...is it Manners on LB? I’m not looking that up. 2 out of 8 weren’t chosen as singles.Clint72 wrote:Like a few others this song has grown on me and I am really enjoying it, fits well where Eddie put it.

Re: Superblood Wolfmoon
one reason I appreciate this song is that it bucks the late-career Pearl Jam trend of the lazy intro; that and the verses are the best parts of the song to me, until the "much to be done" parts

Good point but WWS is the second track on S/T, not Comatose so that's another single.McParadigm wrote:He does seem to like having one of the project’s punchiest songs as the second track. And Got Some, while not a single, was the first public performance from Backspacer, wasn't it?Release_Me wrote:Good point but WWS is the second track on S/T, not Comatose so that's another single.McParadigm wrote:He does seem to like having one of the project’s punchiest songs as the second track.
