I couldn't finish this. I gave it maybe 30 minutes before I just went 'Nup!' and turned it off

End of Watch - much better than expected; knock off of Training Day, but still quite enjoyable

The Hunt - pretty distressing movie, things spiral out of control a little too easily. But, overall it was a good movie and nicely acted; Mads Mikkelson is really good in this.

The Running Man: Hunger Games part 0. Fuckin' classic film where Arnie says he won't kill a helpless man, then five minutes later does exactly that. It was a golden age.

Finally watched Inside Llewyn Davis. To be honest, it was kind of disappointing.

I think I may have just been looking forward to it too much. I enjoyed the cinematography and (some of) the music, but it really felt flat otherwise.

Nebraska...i fucking loved it. A great view on the humbleness of small town America. A lot of it resonated with me on that level.

Wolf of Wall St. I liked it, though I wouldn't say its one of his best. Jonah Hill was suprisingly good, though it seemed like his character was kinda left out near the end.

Being from the cow country of Wisconsin, I am biased towards movies set in Middle America, but I really appreciate when they come around (Shotgun Stories, Winter's Bone, August Osage County). I think a lot of them touch on the theme of family loyalty & the importance of family legacy. And that humbleness usually shows.

The only problem I have is that Hollywood likes to exploit a stereotype of the people. They might highlight them as dumb or ignorant, or backwoods meth-heads. I'm generalizing, of course. One of the exceptions is Jeff Nichols. He always showcases the setting & its people in a sincere, respectable light.

I have yet to see Nebraska, though!

He was surprisingly good? I took a look at one 60 second clip with him in it and I knew he was going to be Oscar worthy. He is to Dicaprio what Pesci was to Deniro. I read that him and Leo are getting together for another movie, fyi.
