I’ll never understand why so many people are triggered by women’s soccer.
USA dominated this tourney. Clearly the best women’s team of all time. Suck it, Trump.

You're from Portland right? That's literally the only city with an NWSL club that draws any fans whatsoever

Yes. I'm not arguing the points about the financials, etc. of soccer in the US, just pointing out that it's weird how so many sports bros can't seem to handle women's soccer being a thing.

It's not a thing though. See you all in four years.

Well even though USA and Mex are both extremely mediocre national sides the level of play will be light years higher. Nobody will be talking about it though. In the States, the casuals get really charged up every four years to root for the novelty of our women being really good at something, but in no way does this country care about soccer period male or female.

I came here to express my congrats to the women's team but maybe this isn't the place.

Again, sports bros constantly feeling the need to make fun of the women's game because they are so threatened that anyone would get in to it.

It's okay to be a fan. Minor league baseball teams have fans too.

Well done to the best team today. USA deserved to win this World Cup. Good to see them pushed a bit too but they beat the other quality teams to win this.

Really high level of play here in the Gold Cup final. Demonstrably better than the Women's Cup.

Yeah the USMNT players absolutely deserve to be paid orders of magnitude more than the USWNT.

You guys are making a non-existent connection between winning and revenue generation (re: USWNT)

The US men’s national team is a national embarrassment.
Tata is great, Berhalter is shit. Hire Jill Ellis for this side too. Packing the box, playing for counters...
The US is completely outclassed in the Gold Cup. These guys should not be paid for this. It’s the international embodiment of MLS. Good effort but not enough skill, vastly outclassed on talent. No shape, no flow, all they can do is foul, cannot possess.

The USWNT is an order of magnitude more marketable than any of the men’s players. Pulisic is the closest and no ones asking him to sell Snickers like Tab Ramos in 94.

Then why don't they have the TV money the men do?

It is genetically impossible for the women to play the game at as high a level as the men. It's as simple as that.
People know Usain Bolt holds the world 100 m record. People have no clue who the woman record holder is but they know it's not close to Bolts time.

This is a great point because like many others I too watch soccer to see who can run the fastest, you absolute fucking dolt.
