I'll take an atmospheric shot of a snowy forest at night over some tacky CGI meant to stroke nostalgia any day.

That said, the lightsaber looked terrible.

That's called being a fanboy, dime. I love SW and I think it's great that more are being made, but I'm not going to be blindly, uncritically excited for it just because.

I think its pretty neat.

Seems that the response the tease has been overwhelmingly positive here (except McP). Not sure who your arguement is with.

the lego trailer is as if not more, fun than than the original

For what it's worth, Star Wars means nothing to me, so the Millennium Falcon didn't really inspire anything.

Im really happy about the new movie, this next chapter is pretty much what i wanted since those books from the 80's.

And the teaser works great.

Its amazing to me how important music and sound effects are to Star Wars. Just hearing the score and those wailing TIE fighters gives me goosebumps, and I'm not even a big fan.

I've just finished Empire, and am now on Endor in Jedi..a lot of the segues and cut-to's in these films are slapdash..they want the viewer to make huge leaps of faith and those are natural for the most part. And that is what makes it. Lucas won with his dream to make them like old time Flash Gordon type adventures.


Also realising that the score plays such a huge part in storytelling in the original trilogy. Giving cues into the mood and helping establish setups..especially on Dagobah, and all over Jedi.

you know, a lot of that trailer reminds me a bit of the concept art from the original trilogy.

And that opening storm trooper thing still isn't doing it for me. It's not the concept. it just looks a bit overacted. The way his head just pops into frame, the heavy breathing, the super dramatic note on the score. I'm sure the scene is fine in the film, but it doesn't work for me here.

That droid is increasingly adorable.

if this trailer had come out a few months earlier I totally would have won the 70s tournament

I'll never understand living a life as a cynic. If you are a star wars fan, and you feel some excitement, why not enjoy that fully? Why temper that?


I'm just having fun being happy and excited, bros. The trailer really did it for me once I put it on my tv and stereo.
