Worrying.
Supercut was cool. I missed Rocket Raccoon before. Pretty much the only thing that would piss me off about this movie is if the Death Star fires.

This is gonna be great!!

It looks like it does fire. You see that city getting blown up.

Then I'm pissed off. That contradicts the first movie.

Well the thinking is it did fire before and it went badly wrong and the station blew up. That sorta explains away why it seemingly took 19 years to get built yet only a few years for the one we see in Jedi. That's just speculation though.

Maybe the one we see being built at the end of ROTS was all built and ready but sat there for years cos they just couldn't figure out how to power the laser and that's where jyns father and all the kyber crystals on Jeddah come in?

Listening to a podcast and an interview with a guy called Anthony bresnikan from EW who has been covering R1 since day one and hes interviewed Kathleen Kennedy and Gareth Edwards and others both on and off the record and he's saying the film had huge problems as it had no emotion and that's why Tony Gilroy was brought in and the reshoots happened. Gareth is an amazing visual director but apparently not an actors director at all.

This is gonna suck.

Fuck emotion. This is a war movie. The only emotion in a war movie should be fear with a tiny bit of hope sprinkled on. Hope that you won't die on top of a big heaping of fear that you will die. Because that is the only emotion that is in war. Nothing else.

Such a load of bullshit. Gareth handled actors and emotions just fine in both of his other movies.

In all seriousness put that report side by side with the cheesy / OTT dialogue we've seen thus far and yeah it's cause to worry.

For as much pessimism as you bring to this thread, even though you are supposed to be some super fanboi, I hope you love it. But don't come in here with that shit if you do, what, with all the negative vibes you throw around on this one.

Blind faith that something is going to be amazing isn't a good place to be Ruddo. And you're misconstruing being realistic with being negative. I'm not being negative. I'm saying there is cause to worry. And there is. Ample cause.

I could easily be the guy post release saying this is amazing! Despite it being a turd. But I won't do that.

TBH it's odd seeing RM so weirdly excited about something especially based just on some trailers for a film that has such a limited scope to do anything interesting outside visuals and obvious carrot via Vader appearing.

I'm just more interested in the Star Wars story. Not these offshoots. So far anyways. I am excited for it but I'm not gonna not talk about what I'm reading and hearing about it. You have to take all information on it, good and bad, not just the stuff you want to hear. (See election 2016).

There is plenty to explore outside of the "Star wars story" as you put it. It comes across that you are just upset that eddie vedder is doing a side project instead of a new pearl jam album.
