kind of PJ related (and I'm sure this has been brought up many many times before, but I'm lazy and just finished kicking the flu) - but I know all the hype during the pre-tour announcement was mostly the "please play arenas" vs stadiums. Obviously a lot of happy fans with the upcoming arena tour. Here's the question that popped into my head - with the recent Stone's tour announcement; are Rolling Stones' fans upset that they only play stadiums now or is that pretty much a given that that's the venue they'll have to go to if they want to see them? And I was wondering if it's eventually going to be the same way for Pearl Jam, or will those days be long gone by the time/if they get there? I mean the Stones are pushing 80 and kudos to them for still getting out there and doing their thing, I'm sure that age plays a big part in how many shows they can physically play on a tour, thus the stadium thing. Just a thought I had in my head the other day and nowhere else to really share it but here.....

what's up with him moving his lower jaw/chin area around all the time when he sings live? Seems to be a fairly new thing. Makes the words warbly.

he's been doing it for at least a few years. i'm sure someone here can explain what it specifically does to his voice and why he does it. i think its mostly when he's singing in his lower range. maybe it opens his throat more?

I seem to recall someone noticing this as far back as the 2004 Voter for Change concert.

Eddie's voice has compressed over the years from so much usage. Based on that I'd guess it's some technique to release/work through muscle tension on tougher notes.

This illustrates why each poster should only be allowed a limited of threads that they can start per day/week/fortnight/month/year/whatever.

they've got one post and that's it. more like let's set a post count minimum before threads can be created.

A Pearl Jam Facebook group has a thread: What is the last great Pearl Jam song?
Some of the serious answers:
Footsteps
Better Man
That made me laugh. First song completed as Pearl Jam, and oldest song written out of the Pearl Jam album tracks.

A lot of people don’t realize the guys in the band aren’t 23 years old anymore.
