Also I'm not sure if Trump sexually assaulting a woman is an extraordinary claim

This is definitely not correctdimejinky99 wrote:
Ps-AI has code in it easily seen and openly telling you it’s AI generated. Phone footage etc doesn’t. It’s a whole different other thing.

Sounds as if this has more chance of being released. But until it does - I'm approaching this with the same level of scepticism.Strat wrote:Is this like the pee pee tape?
Dime, there has been literally thousands of stories in the media recently, going back to when ChatGPT hit the mainstream (if not before), about how AI videos will create an uncontrollable disinformation environment. If it was a simple as you say to detect them, I encourage you to reach out to those reporters and researchers and let them know what you've found so the world doesn't fall victim to these hoaxes.dimejinky99 wrote:Bi_3 wrote:This is definitely not correctdimejinky99 wrote:

And you can just re-record an AI video using screen capture tools or with your phone camera, akin to how people used to take videos in movie theaters.
Yes.dimejinky99 wrote: You’re saying even a moderately capable tech savvy journalist or investigator couldn’t figure out the difference in the code between genuine footage and ai generated.
You wouldn't need to deepfake the whole thing. Just transcode/dither existing video to make the source unique from detection by a frame-hashing tool, add artificial objects and layers to it, transcode/dither it a few more times, and then record it by holding a smart phone at the screen it's being played on so it looks like it was discretely filmed without the subject knowing. Similar to how 'analog horror' is made. Release it a day before the general election and people won't have time to analyze it. So if there is uncirculated video of Trump sitting next to a girl at an event, which there most certainly is because he acts like a pervert frequently, modifying that video to make it look like he gropes her would not be that difficult for motivated bad actors. TLDR: 'Caught in 4k' can be detected, 'caught in 240p' not so much.BurtReynolds wrote:It's a simple matter to remove AI metadata from images, but I don't think deepfakes are quite ready to be rolled out as a propaganda tool just yet. But who knows what they have behind the curtain.
That was funny but also... kind of plausible?!Biff Pocoroba wrote:Fox’s Brian Kilmede’s explanation of how maybe Trump wasn’t “fully cognizant” that the German generals were Nazis is one of the most unintentionally hilarious things I’ve heard in a while

Not plausible that he doesn't realize they were Nazis. Completely plausible that he doesn’t understand they tried to kill Hitler multiple times.Jorge wrote:That was funny but also... kind of plausible?!Biff Pocoroba wrote:Fox’s Brian Kilmede’s explanation of how maybe Trump wasn’t “fully cognizant” that the German generals were Nazis is one of the most unintentionally hilarious things I’ve heard in a while
