Upon first viewing, I got the impression that the entire thing was her plan. But this time, I paid much closer attention and realized she actually did like that guy she was dating and it was actually going well, and she was going to begin turning her life around, moving past everything she was stuck on, for which she was ravenous for revenge. But then when she received the video, she broke down in tears and hatched her plan for the bachelor party. This plan, again upon first viewing, I thought turned out exactly as she wanted. But this time, I realized that she did not plan to die, but had an insurance plan for just in case she did, and that's what came to fruition. So, I was like, "why the fuck would she want to die like that? Couldn't she come up with something better?" But again, this wasn't what she wanted to happen, but she was smart enough to plan for it.

I don't think she's a sociopath. I think the movie paints her as the only sane person in an insane world. Evil things happen in the world and she sees that and confronts them directly. Everyone else just turns a blind eye and tries to get her to do the same. She's fooled for a moment into thinking that maybe the world isn't so evil and insane, but then reality comes back and she must confront it once and for all.

Argo, there are healthier ways to deal with the evil in the world and personal trauma. She's definitely a psycho/sociopath.
