I've seen it claimed that the cops are the ones that shutdown the bridge in NY, not sure if thats accurate. There was a turnpike elsewhere that very much was shutdown by Trump supporters. I'm anti randos closing down roads and highways in general.
From a personal safety standpoint, doing so in vehicles during daylight is safer for everyone involved than pedestrians at night. Still something they should be cited for and otherwise discouraged from doing.
