hear the sirens
peak out through the curtain and see the profound circus that is every day living.

No matter what it was intended to be, it's a silly fucking line as played out in the song.

How did I not see this before? So Beethoven in MFS, and Neruda here? What's the poem?

Oh, it's a stretch and a half. I'm pretty sure it's not actually a Neruda reference, but that's another place where the "profound circus" pops up.

Fleas interest me so much
that I let them bite me for hours.
They are perfect, ancient, Sanskrit,
machines that admit of no appeal.
They do not bite to eat,
they bite only to jump;
they are the dancers of the celestial sphere,
delicate acrobats
in the softest and most profound circus;
let them gallop on my skin,
divulge their emotions,
amuse themselves with my blood,
but someone should introduce them to me.
I want to know them closely,
I want to know what to rely on.

Ed's kids are fleas?

Ed's kids are Flea's?

I could see that inspiring bugs. Mostly because of the well, bugs.

Though that means ed would have gone from reading that and thinking "eaten by bugs/wacky accordion" to thinking "catch my breathe to breathe/let's call o'brien"

Fucking excellent poem, that.

I knew I'd read the profound circus bit before. The poem contains hints of "Rats" and "Bugs", right? Maybe Ed likes this poem a lot. How's that for a stretch?

You know how Just Breathe was the first encore song for a while? I can see this one taking over that role.

Red lights flashing through the window in the rain,
Can you hear the sirens moan?

I still love this song.

Also, I am now going to listen to the song as if it is me singing about pearl jam.

I can get over

whelmed if I think that PJ will some day not be putting out music.

I just want to reach across the bed and know that we are safe in the arms of PJ music.

I danced in laughter in the ever after before I heard Vs. I was dancing with GnR and Vanilla Ice and Weird Al.

Its a fragile thing.

The stripped down version they're are toying around with in that Danny Clinch EPK sounds really nice. This could be a good addition to a Bridge School set.
