What would you call, Joe and trag, Hannibal Lecter? He was certainly controlled and precise. Maybe the most of all. It's the only way to be a successful criminal really. And I suppose if his victims were only rapists, he's just a hardcore feminist and not a bad guy at all.

i do feel like it makes for a sympathetic character, she has PTSD, is calculated and precise, and so on…and in a movie context it totally works, but i think tree’s take is fair about this kind of thing in real life

maybe we’re conflating the two and shouldn’t?

Again, I enjoyed the hell out of the movie. It's really great. But I don't understand how generally sane and good people can cheer her on without having at least a few scruples about it. My wife was all scrupled up and that's part of the fun.

If the world is inhabited by psychopaths (rapists, rape apologists, rape ignorers), is the one woman who fights those psychopaths also crazy? Or is she the one sane person in an insane world?

If you go looking for evil, it's not hard to find. There's good too, often in the same people. And people can change. Motive is the crux of it. Is she doing it to better the human race? Or does it simply empower her and give her pleasure, temporary relief from her condition? She's sick. She's not happier or better for her actions.

Croupier. Not good, shitty production. Kinda feels like it was written by Michael Scott.

But again, what word are we arguing. Sociopath, psychopath and crazy have all been used at different times. When I referenced uncontrolled I was referring to "crazy."

How many people di Hannibal Lecter kill, eat, or kill and eat?

How many people did Cassie kill, eat, or kill and eat?

The film has been described by those who made it as a black comedy, a thriller, and a fable. Probably best not to conflate the two.

I was only saying this to counter your "controlled, precise = sane, healthy" point.

Joe, if you think her behavior is justified and healthy, fine. But I just want you to know I think that's crazy. Agree to disagree.

I was using dictionary definitions.
