I loved Infallible at first...it was one of my favorites. Why does it not do much for me anymore?
I also think the live versions are kinda meh.

its buttered up with some good production. Added bells and whistles. But underneath that, there isn't really anything interesting musically going on. it falls flat live and thus doesnt have the staying power of a good song.
nice enough on the album though.

Overall My Father's Son -> Sirens -> Lightning Bolt is a nice run after an awful start.
I enjoy it on the album too but it undoubtedly shines live
I love the little post first chorus solo that mccready does.
I think Lighting BOlt, the track, is actually really great. It takes a few twists and turns that i find really interesting as far as song structure goes.
Its true I've always liked it even on the album, but I wouldn't have pictured it being like...a top 5 song at a given concert, but it does tend to be.

Its nice enough its true. Im enjoying it now actually. Nice touches. The vocals were never gonna be replicated live. I like that it doesn't really sound anything like any PJ song before.

Pendulum as an intro to their 2013 live shows was cool. On the album it's like...ok. I don't know. It's fine. Its good but not that exciting. Different which I appreciate but...I like it better live than as an album track.

I'm surprised Swallowed Whole is so low on that list. It's a nice one. Lyrics are corny but what else is new? Once it kicks in it soars. Not one of the best, but upper-middle Id say

I love Let the Records Play. I admit it. I’m not ashamed. It’s got a good groove, it changes things up for Pearl Jam a little by going into an album oldies like refrain, and it’s just good fun.
Conversely, I really dislike Future Days, which is hammy in a way that’s much more unpalatable.

I consistently forget Let the Records Play exists. It's fine...I guess....I can understand why people enjoy it but I don't feel like it really fits on this album or any Pearl Jam album.

Sleeping with Myself is one of my album highlights, I really like it. Sounds great.

Personally I've found this to be the one PJ album that doesn't do itself any favours with repeat listens

My ranking
1. Sirens
2. Lightning Bolt
3. My Fathers Son
4. Infallible
5. Sleeping by Myself
6. Yellow Moon
7. Swallowed Whole
8. Pendulum
(HUGE MASSIVE GAP)
9. Mind your Manners
10. Getaway
11. Let the Records Play
12. Future Days
I’m not so sure on the first 8 but I can tell you that the bottom four are way below it. I hate Mind your Manners so much mostly because it’s the only one of the ones I don’t like that is a huge factor in the live show. It’s definitely the one I most wish didn’t exist. But getaway loses more points for being an opener, let the records play loses more points for being the most forgettable song on the album, and future days loses more points for being worthless
I don’t feel very strongly about the relative order of YM, SW, and Pendulum. Similarly, sirens and lightning bolt can trade for number 1. Especially because one is much better live and one is much better on the album.

I'd take Low Light part 3 over Sirens.

It is not. It's a mediocre song. An odd time signature does not automatically mean it's a great song.

None of these songs are very good.
