Our president made the call last week to have the rat traps removed. Now I know why, it’s his unit being shown.

Went and saw my knee surgeon after my MRI and it looks like he's going to completely remove the meniscus from my knee. Thus ending my running career.
I had toyed for a few years about getting back into serious training to do the Rotorua marathon again - and I was gonna rope Sailor into oing it with me, but always found a way to talk myself out of it, now there's a pin put in wether I'll ever do it again

This post really made me pause. You’ve laid out where you’re at physically. I hope you’re okay mentally. I’m guessing most of the posters left on this board are on the back 9 of life. It’s crazy how suddenly it happens.

Mentally I'm fine - not running anymore is going to suck, but I can adapt my life around it easily enough.
I have breath in my lungs, food in the house, a roof over my head, the love of a beautiful woman and kids - and (in my head at least) once I'm post-surgery I can get back to training Jiu-Jitsu

When my knee went out on me (this time round) I was in a bad place for a while, but then pulled myself up by the bootstraps and have been alright since
