Why would that be amazing other than you're a Red Sox fan?

well i'm also a sox fan, but i'm thinking it'd be amazing b/c of the send off season they're giving him.

MLB would have someone whacked before they would let that news get out.

Hmm.
I dunno, the idea of hoping someone who has never shown any reason to be suspected of doing anything shady gets busted just seems silly to me.

I think its a negative reaction to having Jeter's retirement(and his career in general over the last 10 years) shoved down our throats.

Yeah, but that's not Jeter's fault.

That's true. I have no problem with Jeter, I thought the All Star Game lovefest was a bit much, but it's to be expected.

I figured it would be the same thing as the Ripken All-Star shenanigans, so it didn't bug me all that much. That being said, the Ripken one drove me nuts since it was unprecedented up until that point. Now I just expect to see it reoccur once every decade or so.

You should see what NESN does to us on a nightly basis.

I hate the Yankees as much as any of you Red Sockers but I respect the hell out of Jeter. Everything that is right about the game.

The stupid part of this is that the Red Sox and Yankees haven't had a legitimate rivalry for about 8 years.

but see, this right here is why it would be "amazing" and "awesome."
i don't know that anywhere (and i'll take the liberty to speak for him for a second) in chud or my post we were "hoping" for him to get busted. it's more about the fact that it's completely unexpected and fitting that even mlb's "golden child of the
steroid era last decade" was something he said he wasn't. and this comes from a guy who saw just about every hero (for lack of a better term) he's ever had in this sport be exposed as a cheat/juicer. Nomar, Papi, Manny... I'm sure Pedro did. Clemens holds a special place in my heart from way-back. I think the only guy left in my red sox cupboard is Mike Greenwell.

Exactly, it would be hilariously earth shattering news in the baseball world.

I'm sure if Jeter didn't wear pinstripes you'd think differently. Maybe I'd be wrong.
You think Pedro cheated? Hmmm never really thought so.

A lot of truth to that. Nothing since 2005 has compared to what was there in 2003-2004.

The best part would be the Hall of Fame voters trying to justify letting him in while Clemens, Bonds, A-Rod, etc. remain outside... because I guarantee Jeter would still get in anyway.

At least that loss would be somewhat offset by their AL East competition losing Ellsbury and Davis.
