I much prefered Army of the Dead - although I will admit that when I watched it I was just post-surgery and was hopped up on morphine and other pain killers

Took my niece to see the new My Hero Academia movie. She really enjoyed it.

Last night I watched The House of the Devil. It had a cool feel to it and I liked the slow burn, but the actual payoff was a little lackluster.

Still, it was an enjoyable watch.

How old is the kid? I have a niece who is a total scaredy cat so movie selection is a little limited. I know if it was VinylGuy he'd take her to see IT or some shit, but I'm not that metal.

She's 12 and is also a scaredy cat. She was over this past weekend and I wanted us to watch either Annabelle or Paranormal Activity and she was having none of it. We ended up watching the first half of Fellowship of the Ring instead.

Paranormal Activity would be pretty rough. Cool uncle fare though, absolutely.

Flag Day

Meh. it was fine. I really do just enjoy watching really good actors act....Sean Penn is no exception. Dylan Penn was definitely great as well.

Otherwise, the story was a little underwhelming. It covers many years so never felt grounded emotionally enough. Also, many of the same director tricks/editing/shots and storytelling devices from Into The Wild were utilized so it kind of felt like "Been there done this"

Would watch again though strictly by great performances.
