I haven't been able to bring myself to listen to any of his/their music yet. I started watching a clip from the Detroit show and immediately turned it off.

I listened to Burden in My Hand, which was surprisingly cathartic. But that's all I could muster so far.

I've been listening to too much Soundgarden/Chris Cornell since I learned the news. I think it was either when I found myself watching Cornell do Redemption Song on Jimmy Fallon or I was actually listening to Audioslave late last night that I realized I was listening to way too much, as that was the sort of stuff I'd always dismiss from Cornell anyway. Still haven't crossed the line into Scream or his other recent solo album though, I already know I don't like those.
Today I downloaded the deluxe remasters of Ultramega OK and Badmotorfinger though. Those should be good.

Scream is interesting. Half of it is rubbish, half of it is guide good. Take Me Alive is a great weird little song, with fucking Justin Timberlake on back up vocals no less.
The amount of pure unadulterated bile Chris got for that album was pretty staggering. Good on him for taking the risk.

I'll always ride for his Bond song. Great opening to a great film.

Pretty much listened to Soundgarden/solo CC all day yesterday thanks to our radio station that played it exclusively. Except during their Thursday night country music show, which started with Johnny Cash's version of "Rusty Cage".
It's the only thing I knew to do... immediately celebrate the incredible body of work that Chris and Soundgarden provided this world. I was incredibly sad all day, fee a little better today. And I know eventually I'll still feel a little loss, but it will be outweighed by the joy of having been able to live and experience during the time that this music was made

I think you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who likes Andy Dick.

I actually listened to that album more than any of his other solo albums.
And consider this: he's on prescription drugs for depression and people like Trent Reznor are tweeting shit like this:
Granted they toured together a few years later but you think that never came up?

Taking 2-4mg at a time can make you REALLY loopy. I had that dosage once in a hospital ER.
Loopy really is an understatement. When someone takes too many benzos they will not only make you feel loopy but will make you do things you normally wouldn't do, not necessarily to hurt yourself but just irrational and typically over the top behavior. Add alcohol to the equation and the effects of these drugs are increased in extremely dangerous ways typically leaving one with no recollection of what happened to them or explanation for their behavior.
Of course we will never know his state of mind at the time or could even imagine how a drug induced psychosis would effect someone like him but I find this so much more believable than him just deciding he was over it all. So numbing. I have never felt so hurt by losing someone that I didn't know personally but I also feel very lucky to have been able to see him perform as many times as I did.

Heh, I'm still in denial to an extent. This is the worst. You have to feel pretty alone to kill yourself. Sad to think Chris felt like that.

I dont see the problem, every release has positive/negative reviews.

I saw Joe Rogan say something to the extent of : I don't get it why didn't he just work out more?
It's really crazy that in 2017 we still have people who can't wrap their heads around mental illness.

I am too, Dev, but with the recent details coming out surrounding his death, and the known side effects of that drug, I sincerely don't believe he was in the right frame of mind to consciously or intellectually make that decision.
I don't believe sober Chris would have entertained suicide. It'll go down as a suicide, but being so drugged up who knows where his mind was. Probably only a fragment of himself.
For some damn reason, his bodyguard gave him a couple more pills when obviously he was already doped up on something. Under these circumstances, it's impossible for me to say he wanted to kill himself. As more details come to light and stories are told from those around him, I don't personally believe he was suicidal, but that is only my opinion. He was taking a potentially dangerous drug with some serious side effects at higher doses.

It is until you realize you're talking about Joe Rogan.

I meant more when you are depressed everything is at 11, especially negative criticism. Lord knows that a few months ago when I was down in the dumps it didn't matter what my boss said, it sounded like criticism and I was ready to just quit my job.

I've never heard of Stone Sour, but they fucking NAILED Outshined. The singer did great on the lower register stuff too.

Still fucking stunned. Had a rough week, barely got any sleep Wednesday night and then browsing twitter early Thursday morning I see the news from reputable sites and I'm just completely fucking dumbfounded. Was a zombie all day.
A day later and it's still hard to process. Never shed tears over a "celebrity" death before, but this one hits hard. Went through some concert vids I've taken over the years and first one I found was "Nearly Forgot My Broken Heart" and it fucking broke me.
I can't imagine how his family feels... it's so selfish, but I feel like I've lost a family member.

I think you might be getting your timeline mixed up. The bodyguard was fixing his computer then gave him 2 pills which he may have been using to get to sleep. It was after this that wife talked to him and got worried that he was repeating himself and slurred speech. No one has claimed he seemed to be on something prior to the 2 Ativan.
