There have been a few allusions to having heard it, but I've just stayed quiet because that would be stupid. But is that more stupid than pretending the new PJ album will be awesome? I say it's time to quiz Nostrand on his feelings about S/T and Backspacer. If he thinks they're both awesome as well, then we have no case.

My roommate was chatting up Stone while he was walking his dog the Friday before the first show. We pulled our car over and had a quick word with Mike the day of the second show, just talking the night before and such. We saw Jeff and his girl out shopping and got a bit giddy about it. We could have talked to him, but it's just a chilled out vibe there. Everybody I know had a chat with one of them. Both nights were full of banter about our town...Stone even took the mic and was chatting about it. Nuts.

ANYWAY, I'll never forget being there, every friend I ever went to school with, every person I grew up with and listened to PJ with, my sister, everbody! We're all crammed into this 7000 or 8000 seat arena, and they started with Can't Keep. I'll never forget Ed changing the "it's been wonderful tonight" line to "it'll be wonderful tonight," and just fucking losing my composure. I know most of you weren't there, but those two shows, especially the first night, should be considered a lot more classic than I think they are.

Cool story. Those were pretty widely regarded as great shows. It was pretty remarkable for them to make a stop up there. Glad you had that!

when they first came out i thought they were both great, and still think they are good albums, but are both flawed by production and ive soured on them a bit, but i will most likely LOVE this one for a couple of months just because its new PJ and then ill be able to see if its a step up from the last 2 or not

September 24th and 25th, 2005. The last two dates of the Canadian tour. Back when Ed didn't have a beard, but Stone did. Hehe.

Gotcha. I'm hoping that it'll be pretty apparent to me quite soon whether it's a step up, or whether it's full of the stuff I don't want.
