True but they had Mo Vaughn. Both taken in the same draft class by the Sox which is crazy. Vaughn oddly enough was on the same college team as Craig Biggio.
IIRC, at the time Bagwell was a 3B and it was actually Tim Naehring that they chose to keep over Bagwell, not Vaughn. So it's pretty terrible.

Yes I think you are right. I guess I was saying comparing Bagwell to Vaughn at least for a few years there was a push. But the way you put it comparing Bags to Naehring....that makes it much worse haha. That dude was always hurt. I did love Ellis Burks growing up.

Kinda shocked he wasn't moved at the deadline. Probably the best SS in the league this year not named Tulo. He is having arguably his best year this season and his contract is enticing. Signed through next year for $10 mill and a team option for 2016 with only a $1 million buyout. Thought he would have been a good fit on the Reds and even the Yankees. He could have played second and moved to SS next year when that one guy is gone. Jesuster.

Yikes haha.

As a Braves fan you probably remember when Andrés Galarraga (who I loved as a kid) lost his bat a lot. It was like 2-3 times a week.

Puig didn't lose it. It broke on a check swing. He was still holding the handle.

I'm starting to worry a bit about Skitch.

I was at an eighteen inning game in 2006, White Sox-Red Sox. It was pretty ridiculous.

EDIT: Scratch that, it was nineteen innings.

This is the longest game I have ever been at. As a Texas Rangers fan I have seen some (ok a lot) of bad baseball. This was an awful team but a good night. A lot of my all time fave Rangers were on this team though...Pudge, Ruben Sierra, Gabe Kapler, Frank Catalanotto, etc. Fun times. Sorry Red Sox faithful.

In terms of random, fairly meaningless sports moments that are favorites in my mind, Jermaine Dye's game-tying home run that day with two outs in the ninth is very near the top.
