Agreed. Very dramatic, and beautifully shot.stip wrote:The shot of Rey flipping up over Kylo's tiefighter with the music swelling was terrific (and something we haven't really seen before either)

I love that idea. I brought it up at some point last year after hearing Jennifer Landa from Force Center speculate about it. And I really, really want that to be the case.stip wrote:So I wonder if the idea is that Skywalker becomes the new Jedi, moving away from a series of people to an ideal. It would fit thematically with the storytelling in Force Awakens and Last Jedi

I hope it is something different than a Sith force ghost.durdencommatyler wrote:I'll be real, I'm not super in love with the idea of Palpatine coming back. At least, I don't like it on paper. There are certainly ways to make it work and I'm going to trust that JJ will pull it off with aplomb.
The hardest pill for me to swallow will be an "evil" Force Ghost. I hate that idea and it kinda flies in the face of everything they've set up from the beginning and George's original idea/intention how the light and dark sides work.
Again, we'll see how they handle it. I'm still super excited!

I'm underwhelmed. It was fine. The music was the best part.

I prefer a straight up resurrection, frankly. But I also think they could "bring him back" in hologram/holocron form, too. One of those is preferable to me.Anders wrote:I hope it is something different than a Sith force ghost.durdencommatyler wrote:I'll be real, I'm not super in love with the idea of Palpatine coming back. durdencommatyler wrote:I know we don't like to think about marketing/social media/hits in relation to art and all of that but that's the world we live in.
The title will likely have a "keyword" in it for internet search/social media purposes. "Force" and "Jedi" were both used in the previous films. Great buzz/keywords for marketing tie-in purposes and search engine ease. I fully expect this one to also have a major Star Wars "buzzword" in it.
I imagine with how hard they've been hitting "conclusion of the Skywalker Saga" that there's a more than decent chance that "Skywalker" will appear in some form. Something like "The Fate of the Skywalkers" or maybe "The Skywalker Legacy." Something in that arena is my official guess.
But we'll find out in 2 days!
I'm gonna go ahead and call it two out of three.durdencommatyler wrote:I also kinda hope there's a play on the "This isn't going to go the way you think" line from the TLJ trailer. I hope someone says something like "This can only end one way."
Also, I hope we get just one quick shot of Leia.

Daisy is a treasure, but nothing about this movie yet looks all that appealing. Maybe that will change as more is revealed.

Or he didn’t die in XI. Bady injured, had to flee. I don’t know, I’m sure that doesn’t make sense. Yeah, I'd be cool with that too. Especially if they find a way to explain where he's been and why Snoke was a part of all of this.

I'm actually with dime on the title. The trailer is great, but I'm not feeling the title at all.
