I thought the first part was really on the nose but by the end I think I loved it. Stewart was good, but not great? But I love Larrain's visual style and the score was phenomenal.

Plus better performances. Renner and Mackie were both so good. Mackie has been one of my favorites for awhile.tragabigzanda wrote:I was also underwhelmed. Felt very brutalist but not very moving. Found the simpler story of THL to be much more effective

I was underwhelmed initially, but I liked Howl’s much better on second viewing.
