The whole show is about how violence ruins lives.

Agreed
Disagree. He went psycho in the s3 finale. Something broke him when he was captured by the Bolivians.

Spoiler: show
Yes but when his back was against the wall then, he risked his life to rescue Cristobal. This time, he took the path of least resistance then through Cristobal under the bus.

The development that would bring it all in line for me would be if he decides to retaliates against the Chechans, with Barry’s help.
The whole sand scheme was a smokescreen to get Cristobal back to LA and take control.

I didn’t realize the guy the guy Cousineau shot as being his son.
I kinda expected Christobol to get killed there at the end.
I’m hoping that’s not a time jump at the end but I remember the season reviews saying there’s a big narrative switch midway through. Hope they’re wrong but I am very curious how the last four episodes play themselves out. Hader & Berg have done a great job plotting the arc so far.
I’ve mentioned how the show has a binge ability appeal; a rewatch with several episodes back to back could be down the road.

Right, but
Spoiler: show
The way the Chechans were ready to kill Cristobal if he didn’t go along with the takeover makes it clear that Hank was willing to put him in that position.
Hank literally says he didn’t expect that to happen. He miscalculated, because he’s blinded by power and ambition.

the only way i can half believe what Hank just did is because he might be scared of Barry and think he needs protection. But still, very far from what he has done in the previous season.

season opener was incredible. second and third episodes very uneven. four less so, with some really great moments.
