I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Overall, I think this was one of the weakest seasons ever. The member berries were great, but everything else was dull.

I agree. The continuing story really fizzled out and the whole troll thing was not funny.

I watched episodes 2 and 3 of the new season last night and they killed me. Pretty much all of it was hilarious. This season might even be better than the last.

If you're not laughing at Gerald spinning Boston record drinking wine and cozying up for a night of trolling then maybe you don't get funny.

I just watched the one where Butters had to cross the border from Mexico back into the U.S.
Damn that's a funny episode.

I hate Bill Simmons as much as anyone. But this podcast with Matt and Trey is pretty solid.

Comedy Central has delayed the season 21 premiere date forSouth Park. The popular animated series will now debut on September 13, instead of its original August 23 date, the network confirmed to Deadline.
“We decided to push the upcoming seasons of South Park andBroad City into September when schools are back in session,” a network spokesperson said in a statement.
South Park airs at 10 PM, followed by Broad City at 10:30 PM.
In a May interview on The Bill Simmons Podcast, South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker said there would be less emphasis on Donald Trump in the upcoming season.
“That was part of the bummer for us about [last] season; we didn’t want to make it a big Trump thing, and we kept thinking it was gonna go away and we didn’t want to get caught up in just being a political show,” Parker told Simmons. ” There’s plenty of good political comedy out there. We like to dabble in that and do that one week, but then the next week we want to do fart jokes. We love to change tones. And it’s interesting, ’cause now people are [saying], “OK, well let’s see how you deal with Trump this coming season.” No one ever said, “Oh, the new season’s coming, how you gonna deal with Obama in this season?” We’re not that show and we never were”.

I'm glad to see they will focus less on Trump. Obviously there was an election least season but I still felt they bit off more with Trump than they could chew. But we also know he will continue to provide plenty of fodder. Personally I like the not directly topical episodes.
Oh, and there is speculation this could be the last season. But I'm sure none of us expected it be going for 20+ years.

New episodes start tonight. Supposedly it's going back to an episodic approach than before. They've said last year's plotline was bigger than they could chew.
Oh, and there is speculation this could be the last round.

B-/C episode, which means it was better than every episode from last year.

Weak episode. Some good ideas that never came to an insightful conclusion.

In other news, I watched Good Times with Weapons for the hundredth time today. That anime song is probably one of the funniest things they've ever done.
