yea, im not sure why we are supposed to handle trump with baby gloves or not call out exactly what he has done to cause this shit. Like any problem, it needs to be named and addressed before anything can be done about it.cutuphalfdead wrote:Because Trump's rhetoric is part of the story. It would be disingenuous to ignore it.

And I get that. "Deserving as it is", to be sure. I just can't quite put my finger on the way that it was presented that just feels nasty in its own way.cutuphalfdead wrote:Because Trump's rhetoric is part of the story. It would be disingenuous to ignore it.
it's the texan in you. No matter how much you fight it, you'll always be a southern texan.washing machine wrote:And I get that. "Deserving as it is", to be sure. describe in the crudest terms the contours of this "thing"doug rr wrote:i've got a thing for katy tur.
President Donald Trump: Journalists are the enemy of the people. Maxine is low IQ. Kavanaugh protestors were paid by Soros. Lock Hillary Clinton up. Obama is a phony and a terrorist. I’m not taking any of these statements back.washing machine wrote:I'm getting increasingly annoyed with NPR's Up First. For the story about bombs delivered to democratic figures today, they led with soundbites of Trump being nasty on the campaign trail before reporting on his response.
Something about the shade and snark just didn't sit well with me, deserving as it is. How is reporting like this helping the divide?
I...don't want to fight it. I like being a southeast Texan.Strat wrote:it's the texan in you. No matter how much you fight it, you'll always be a southern texan.washing machine wrote:And I get that. I can't even begin to tell you how uniquely Austin your presentation of that sentiment is.Strat wrote:AUSTIN RULES HOUSTON DROOLS!washing machine wrote:I...don't want to fight it. Bombs: (sent to all of the above)
NPR: Lets highlight that correlation.
Trump: The media just needs to shut up if it doesn’t want to get bombed.
I cannot begin to guess why that series of events would strike anybody as NPR failing to heal the divide.
