After my second listen....

Guys, this song is fucking awesome. I’m totally into it.

Have fun hating
Third time’s the charm. This song is groovy. I’m stoked for Gigaton, it feels like it could go anywhere. That’s an incredibly fun and renewed spirit I haven’t felt about PJ in about 15 years. This is fun again. :hooray:
Fourth time confirmed. This is one that a lot of you guys will come around on I think.
This time gets a high five :nice:
Six time feels better than ever. You guys gotta ride this crazy train, it feels great.

Johnny Guitar is probably my least favorite PJ song
Is there a "worst songs" thread? Or least liked songs? whatever...

I was looking for such a thread the other day and came up empty.

Johnny Guitar
Pilate
Can't Deny Me
Come Back

Plenty of bitterness to go around.
I’m totally digging the messy structure and that mad solo.

He's layering the shouts because he can't sing those notes anymore

I like it, somewhat. The music & production are both pretty good. The vocals are the low point. It's a bit untidy in terms of structure.

A middle of the road song for PJ. Not great, but not sucky aka Can't Deny Me.

I feel like the snippet was a complete jebait - not a single second of the rest of the song sounds like it.

Yeah, other than the “she was a stunner...” lyric I am in. Old men dreaming of early Kinks, and making some weird choices along the way, is fine by me. If it’s a highlight, it’s probably a bad sign, but as album tracks go it’s pretty fun. I like Pearl Jam garage rockers that stumble, I like hearing the fuzz of the amps crack little, and I like that dive bomb solo that doesn’t want to lift you into the clouds.
This is close to what I feel. I personally prefer the less wordy PJ songs because I like Ed singing something in the vein of Corduroy rather than STBC. I like it when the vocal delivery is more deliberate and he isn't racing through, personally. That is not to say STBC is a bad song or that this one is, I just don't want this to be the direction taken on the whole album. As a standalone song, I like it (4 stars at the moment). It isn't the formulaic PJ rocker perhaps some are making it out to be, nor is it completely left field like DOTC and it isn't in the vein of Riot Act or Binaural rockers either which is perhaps what has let down folks who wanted something like that. I personally did not want anything like Get Right or God's Dice or some of the other rockers on those albums. Those aren't my idea of good PJ rockers.

I am perfectly happy with SBWM for what it is, just that this type of song while enjoyable cannot be a favourite given the other styles from this band that I love more. I had similar feelings for MYM when it came out; I liked it but didn't want the rest of the album to sound like it and would have preferred Getaway to be the single instead from that bunch of songs. I know some of you don't like the production on LB. I am not too bothered by that aspect, I just enjoyed the melody on Getaway and Ed's vocal delivery more than I did on MYM.

Not nearly enough attention has gone to how horrible the title is.

i guess it's Ed on guitar.

I’m almost certain this is the second single to reel back in the bro crowd that got upset at DOTC not sounding like the PJ they were used too.

Other than that, it’s a weird song as a single. There is no real chorus. It’s growing on me but doesn’t add up as a single.

The main riff had potential. I would have ran that riff through the Riot Act filter and made it heavy like Save You.

Instead it just sounds so SOFT.
